Japs Mpota, known by his stage name “Jerry Japs on It”, also called the Afro Killer, is an Afro and R&B artist from Chipata District in Zambia’s Eastern Province. His passion for music began at the young age of 10, inspired by artists like Diamond Platnumz and especially Wizkid, whom he looks up to as a role model.

He officially began his musical journey in 2019, stepping into the studio for the first time in 2020 to bring his sound to life. Since then, Jerry Japs on It has performed at several events, including Chipata July 2025 and shows in Mambwe District, earning recognition for his energetic performances and Afro-infused melodies.

Throughout his journey, he has collaborated with talented artists such as Faluja the Future, Ably Chuza, King Lap-2-P, Rae Tyger, and Delzee 189. Despite facing challenges like financial limitations and the high cost of collaborations, Jerry Japs on It remains determined and optimistic about his future in the music industry. He envisions a breakthrough year ahead, aiming to take his sound and brand to greater heights.
